He owns his own painting company and he throws money at them all the time. He's paying for most of the trip. They own a single home because both her father and father-in-law gave them about 100,000 to put down on a home.
Its hard not to get a little envious.
My brother-in-law is a few sandwiches short of a picninc yet he makes a great salary. His father-in-law gave them a lot to build a house worth 350,000 and all he asked in exchange was for them to buy him a 20,000 truck. Someone actually came up to their door and asked to buy their house. It wasn't even for sale!!!!They were offered 600,000 for it and they only paid 200,000 fot it.

I have a similar story where a friend of mine's father in law in mexico paid off all his rental properties for him once he married the girl. Hmmmmmm

Next time you see your father-in-law, flip him the bird.

Me and my wife would not be home owners if it were not for her parents. My wifes dad owns 4 gas stations in the san diego area. Came to america from the middle east with NOTHING. Luck of the draw.

It's pretty naive to think that because someone has money (or family money) that they are lucky. That seems to be the line of popular thought. Take a chance to look in your BILs closet and I bet he has some ugly skeletons.

So long as I can get out of bed every morning healthy as can be, I'm happy as can be. I never lose sight of that.
Maybe its because I know people who can't.

Oh, I believe in this nowadays! I'm tired, cranky, my evening fell apart, BUT some good lab results today were enough to keep me quite happy!

It's always easy to find someone to be envious of - someone has it better, easier, etc.But it's also easy to look around and see those that are less fortunate than you also.If you always look in one direction you will feel short-changed, envious and jealous; and if you look the other you will feel blessed, lucky and thankful.
