I've never really been into the social networking websites where you set up big detailed profiles and stuff. I tried Facebook for a little while after some coaxing but I barely ever checked it so I just ended up deleting it. This was about a year ago.

But now Facebook seems to be everywhere and I'm a little worried that not having one might hurt me dating-wise. A lot of times when people ask me to add them on Facebook and I tell them I don't have one, they think I'm some kind of loser or just an attention-seeker (the irony...). I have nothing against the service or people who use it, nor am I trying to make some statement by not having one. I've just personally never really gotten into social networking. I'd much rather send a text or e-mail, or make a phone call. What would a young woman think of a man who didn't have a Facebook, and why? Be honest.

I'm a 20 year old male by the way.

My boyfriend is completely disinterested in facebook. His family (who live over a thousand miles from us) will from time to time harass him into putting up a bare bones profile so they can share pics of nieces and nephews and family stuff, so he'll occasionally bend and put up a very limited profile, but he usually ends up just deactivating it.

I only have a Facebook so I can keep in contact with some of my friends and my long distant relatives. Hopefully soon when a new social network page pops up, I'm going to delete my Facebook. I do have a Google+ account but very few people I know have one. However, I did just delete a bunch of friends. I had over 600 and am now down to 368, going to delete even more. A lot of the statuses people put up are just plain stupid and ridiculous (people talking personal private issues or talking bad about other people, game posts, etc.) and I'm also getting tried of being bombard with game requests for games I don't even play. (Farmville especially) I click on the notification link, a new game request....this happens over 20 times a day. I'm going to go twitchy and mad over it. I'm already getting to the point where I'm yelling out-loud, stop sending me these game requests! I don't play this and I don't care about this game!

Sorry to say, but if you are not on Facebook these days, you simply don't exist

I'm a guy, and I don't have one. Seems far more necessary for a celebrity, or someone marketing a product or business.

My advice, find a girl who doesn't feel it necessary to have such things. My bet, she will be awesome.

I have a FB account because it does seem easier to get in contact with some of my friends that way. Other then that I couldn't careless.

Isn't it really "I couldn't careless"?

I have a facebook but I'm not obsessed with it. I think it's perfectly fine not to have one. It's all good as long as we have some kind of connection.
