In some cases yes, but definitely not in all. Many times it was a case of being in the right place at the right time or being born into the family that is in the industry and having the right connections. I mean...the Kardashians for example.

I'm quite unimpressed with their celebrity. If a person is an interesting person who contributes something good to society, then, that's more impressive to me.

People here are liars, they pretend like they don't care they met a celebrity but then tell everyone they know about it, Tweet it, describe everything about the encounter and remember it the rest of their life

I disagree, there are plenty of people who truly do not care.

I've met quite a few famous people the only one who really impressed me personally was Gene Simmons!
I even met Ron Jermany at a party..not impressed.

I was impressed with Gene Simmons because he was so down to earth the only other one I was impressed by was Tom Selleck they were both nice & seemed to care & want to talk to thier fans.
I met serveral living in Califorina for a while but these two stuck out. Even met a couple of presidents I felt dirty just being near them.

Quite a sweeping statement.

Do you wish to quantify it a little as some have said they were impressed or where they lying about being impressed?

Saying they're liars is a bit rough but I do see merit in this post. People remember having met these famous people because they're famous. They've rated something - something worthy of remembering and of mentioning the encounter to others. Chances are, the same day as the brush with fame, any of us might have had a lengthier encounter with different 'nobodies' who we've since forgotten. So yes, I can see that there's something disingenouos about someone claiming to be indifferent about celebrity yet still regaling people about the encounter years later. That doesn't mean they treated them like royalty or fawned all over them when they met but clearly that indifferent/unimpressed person took notice and still finds something remarkable about it to share.
