Only people I know and like. So that really narrows it down.

I have a whopping 55 friends, and half of those are family. Four I've never met IRL.

I recently deleted a few people that I had never met -- it just didn't make sense. Of the ones I kept, 3 are very active on my HS FB page; the other is a dog.

I like that I've really reconnected with many cousins that I saw all the time when I was a kid, but not really since everyone grew up and moved away.

I also enjoy all the blog pages that I liked that show up in my news feed -- gives me a little preview, so I don't have to go to those sites if I'm not interested.

Me either. I don't put much thought into it. It's not like having extra friends that aren't true friends affects me in any way. I don't care if they see my updates or whatever.

I just got tired of seeing updates from people that I didn't really know on my newsfeed. It was easier to delete them than to figure out how to make them not show up!

Most people my age (24) have like 500+ friends, because they just add/accept basically anyone. By comparison, I have 125.

I want to remove a few more people, but Im afraid their egos won't be able to handle it.

One of my roommates from college who I haven't spoken to since Summer 2011, who is a nice guy, but is just annoying.

What are your "rules" for such a thing?
If I know them in any capacity outside of Facebook, I'll add them. People I meet I generally look up on Facebook and send a friend request.

If they are friends with my other friends and send me an invite, and seem genuine enough, I'll add them too. Met a lot of interesting people that way.

I am of the "more is better" camp, but then again, I don't have any embarrassing or incriminating pictures and rarely post anything personal any more, even though I did once and gained support I probably would not have if social media did not exist. Most of my posts today are random thoughts and things I've found worthy of sharing in my fields of interest. I also appreciate having people look at, and hopefully comment on or at least "like" my travel and other photos.

Default What's your "rule" for Facebook friends?

My rule is one of the best...for me; and very simple indeed, no Facebook!

Best regards, sincerely

Here are my rules

1. Must not constantly religious stuff in your status all day

2. You must be active on Facebook

3. You must respond to me if I reply to one of your status
