I have a LinkedIn account and was active in it for a while, but there's little to gain from it, since I work totally behind the scenes in my job, in a very specialized area. I have no desire to reconnect from people I went to high school with, nor any of my exes. I'm pretty shy as well, and most social situations tire me out.

That's me. Anybody else?
My hub doesn't have FB either.

Possible they keep in touch with friends by calling or texting. Not everyone is on FB. Lots of people my age (early 50's) and older are not on it.

Who needs FB when there's City-Data where we can post anonymously lol

I use Social Media to keep in touch with family and several good friends because I can't use the phone due to deafness.

I have a Facebook account but I rarely go on it. You are not missing anything. People posting what they cooking for dinner, or eating for dinner. Silly mess nobody cares about. I would rather live my life than waste it posting on Facebook.

Seem to me like most of the people who post on Facebook are searching for a compliment.

But you're going to miss events & updates. My family reunion.. Without being on FB, if you were in my family, you would have no idea about it.

It's just so hard staying out of the loop in my opinion. It's like living in Antartica.
