Guys go to the movies all the time with a male friend. But it's usually the type of movie that women don't want to see. You know, some bloody hacker movie or something similar. Frequently what many men will do though is not sit directly next to their friend. Quite often they will sit down with a single seat inbetween them.
What? I need someones hand to hold when the movie gets scary!
Ill go with my buddies. Hell, My best friend and I tell eachother 'love'. Not real love, just the friendship love.
and I might want to go gay here in awhile.
Welcome to the better side our new gay friend! There is nothing wrong with going to the movies with another guy. I am gay and I usually go to the movies with my straight friend and my partner, he sits between us and we don't look like we are ready to jump into a gay orgy. So lighted up people and enjoy your male friends.
My buddy and I go to movies together occasionally. It never once occurred to me that someone might think we're gay.
My feeling is that the men who refuse to do something due to fear of a homosexual label probably have some latent homosexual tendencies or desires. Otherwise, why would they give a rip?
i do it. i'm not gay.
why is it when 2 guys become friends all the girls start snickering and saying stuff like so whats up are you doin some sort of bonding or something???
i mean if 2 guys like each other then they are gay, when a guy pets a cat he's into beastialilty? when a guy smiles at a kid he's a pedaphile?
we need to lighten up on guys a bit no? i wana know when did all this start?
i mean all this stuff goes way past prior acceptable norms.
tell me what is "proper behavior" for a guy.
ok its not john wayne, its no longer apologetic white guy
no longer sir galahad, its definitely not richard simmons.
give me a clue, i am happy to comply.

NICE post!!!......i'll give you a rep point for that.....i feel like guys get judged all the time with some of the looks that women give us when we do things.....I was trying to take pictures in my city the other day and i could sense some lady staring at me as if i was making a porno or something....LOL.....and any time i am at the park playing basketball and a kid starts shooting at my court women make me feel like i am a pedifile or something just because i start talking to the kid or grab his ball.....LOL....just a little humor there at the end but you know what i mean....i cant even sit on the side of the court after being tired and watch the kid play and wait till i get my wind back without feeling like a woman is thinking im going to go and kidnap her kid or something......its ridiculous.....its thier job to watch thier kids....if im out there and the kid is not near the parent and i start talking to them its not my fault for being friendly.....if they are so scared then where the hell are they....oh wait...they are just chit chatting with another friend on the other side of the park
First off, I seldom go to a movie with anyone. I think that in four years, she and I have gone two times so far. It wouldn't bother me any if I went with a guy. So long as HE knew that we were only seeing a movie, and thats all. One day I was about to get off work, and I usually walk to and from work about nine blocks or so. I have did that for a long time because I enjoy it. My phone rings and its my fiancee. She explains that she had forgot and left her purse at our local library, and is now at a book store in a town about seventy miles away. So I walk by after work, pick up her purse for her, as the library people know both of us well. I then proceed to walk nine blocks carrying a rather large purse. Did it bother me? Not at all. In fact, I thought it was kind of funny.
There are way better things to do than go to the movies. There's really not a great reason to go to the movies.
When this thread was created in 2007, movie theaters were overpriced. They are still overpriced today. However, a lot of technology has changed since 2007. In 2007, flat panel TV sets were still fairly new and not many households had them. Netflix was primarily a DVD by mail company that had barely started streaming, Amazon Prime had barely started streaming, and Hulu didn't exist yet. Today, it is easier to watch movies at home on higher quality technology than it was in 2007 for a fraction of the price of actually going to the movies, even for a discount theater. However, even in 2007, watching a DVD on a CRT TV was cheaper than going to the movies.
Partaking in an activity together (golf, tennis, hunting, fishing, etc) is a way better use of time than watching a movie in a theater, or even watching video content at home.
Odd question. I would never assume that 2 men at the movies are gay.
This never even crossed my mind.
