No one is saying not to judge.
Just why bring up irrelevant derogatory stuff when you're trying to make a different point?
Oh, yes...to sway opinion.

I know a total loser dbag who IS a published writer. So he's a real writer and a loser!

It was an irrelevant rant is all I'm saying.

Sure, that is a judgement. We are required to make judgements of other people all the time: Whom do we trust?, to whom do we turn in time of need?, in whom can we safely confide?, and on and on.

As far as thinking we are better than someone else, it is an absurdity not to think that. I sure hope you think you are better than Hitler, Stalin, serial killers, child molesters, con artists who prey on the weak and vulnerable, and sadists, just to name a few. If you don't think you are better than the people I listed as examples, you have a terribly low opinion of yourself. And you sure don't need to be perfect to be better than the examples.

Your stance is quite simply incoherent.
Well, that did it for me!

You have definitely convinced me that you are right, and we (who happen to disagree with you) are just a bunch of 'incoherent' numbskulls.

Bravo! Well done!!

Thanks to you, I now know at least one living egomaniacal person I feel I'm better than.

postscript and warning: I think we may all be in for thread #3 on the subject.

So I analyzed your logic and found it wanting, and that makes me an "egomaniacal person"? LOL Another proof of faulty reasoning and lack of logic. You're welcome to feel you are better than I am if that makes you happy. Again, I confess I don't follow your logic, which would be along these lines: Someone has dared to disagree with me, therefore I'm all ticked off and I am better than that person. Well, whatever floats your boat.

Since I am logical, why would I start another thread "on the subject"? If it is the same subject, it belongs in the same thread. The two threads I did start are on different subjects; the first was about people calling themselves writers and the second was about basic attitudes toward family. I started the second because the first got hi-jacked in the direction of the second. The second subject didn't even belong in the Writing Forum at all, which was why I elected to start the second thread here.
