I'm an only child too. I know you said your post needed rethinking, so I won't really respond to what your original post said.
I will say that with my few close friendships & romantic relationships, they have NEVER ridiculed or tauntetd me reagrding my ebing an only child. In fact, it's rarely the topic of conversation. The main point here is not about being an only child or not. You have to be a LOT stronger to not allow a man to treat you in this way. DOn't be afraid to stand alone & if the man takes you for granted & is not in your corner, kick him to the curb!
