I haven't actually responded to any posts there but I've been reading them for a few months.
I just wouldn't feel comfortable hooking up with someone from a combination for-sale / job / auto-and-car-sale / personals site...and I've heard the horror stories but don't know how many are actually true.

Oh, I was talking about the personals (well, not those in the section with the pictures of private parts). The rest are probably about 90% safe. When I was more actively looking for a 2nd fridge I still haven't bought , all the ads I responded to were perfectly fine and legitimate. Went to see two of the fridges, too, and as you can see I'm still around.

I got my sons toddler bed from a lady on craigslist. She was upgrading to a "big boy" bed. I took a guy friend with me in case she turned out to be crazy "oh the bed's in the basement. Here walk down these steps into this dark room" it turned out my guy friend knew her husband and the pickup turned into a 3 hour get together and now we're friends.
That being said though...I don't know if I'd date anyone from craigslist but I have went to a few events that I've found in the communities section and met some acquaintances. I'd say take your chances but be very very very safe.
You don't?! They're quite loyal I hear. Most of the time the relationships with them last way longer than many marriages.
Well, yeah - but they come with guarantees and warranties, and you can always get replacement parts for them...
