If anyone thinks all it takes to be a complete woman is to have a kid, once again I argue women who molest and abuse their children. Oh, but I brought this up before and of course troll ignored it.

It's a personal choice. But you don't have to write all kinds of news articles glamorizing it and convincing people they should follow a certain lifestyle.
There's been a proliferation of articles concerning gay marriage. I don't see them as an attempt to indoctrinate me into the homosexual "lifestyle". And I say "lifestyle" in quotes because I doubt it's a choice. There are more and more people that identify as transgender. I doubt that these people would risk familial and societal disapproval for a "trend". And, if my track record with guys hasn't turned me gay, nothing will.

You speak wisdom, DR2012. I still like my weasel plan, though.

You know people you can't force children or child free lives on people. It's a personal choice every one has to make for themselves. Just because you have kids and enjoy being a parent don't mean every one else will. However same goes for the flip side, child free isn't always best for some people. What is right for some, isn't right for all. I'm sure every one who has made their choice to have or not have children did so for their own reasons, none of which are wrong. If you are happy with your choice, then what does it matter what every one else does? You don't live every one elses life, only your own. Focus on your own life and enjoy it, no matter if it is with kids or without.

So-none of those events happened/are happening? People did not suffer through them?

Never said that, of course they are.

My point is that it's very common for people to overestimate the importance and poignancy of the era they live in. It takes conscious effort to keep perspective.

Ugh. I watched the Diane Downs movie with Farrah Fawcett. Made me furious.

You ever read anything by Dave Pelzer? He wrote "A Child Called It", "The Lost Boy", and "A Man Named Dave". Absolutely heartbreaking. It's amazing that he transcended his experiences to help others, but so, so many don't. And who knows how many other stories that happen with little to no notoriety. Makes me sick.

I understand that some people do not want children. I understand that some people should not be parents, simply because they are not capable or suited to be parents. But I do not understand how anyone could not acknowledge that there are many positive things about being a parent.

I support public schools with the taxes I pay.
