Oh yeah, I feel an instant connection with a lot of people I meet, but I am very selective when if comes to friendship. I always have to get to know them more because I don't want the whole drama I see people get when they get too close to someone they barely knew.

And yes this has happened to me twice.
I agree with you, and this has happened with a few people over the course of my life.

I am not talking about a romantic relationship but a friendship.

You just really liked the person right from the start and even though you met the person just seconds ago you felt like you knew the person their entire life and you felt so at ease with them and could talk all night. There was an instant chemistry with them and a natural charisma about your new friend.

Does this happen? You have heard about love at first sight, this is immediate friendship at first sight!

Is this more possible with women friends, vs. men friends, or does gender make no difference?

If this happens to you, tell us your stories!
All my friends are male. I have known them since we were kids. We are still friends to this day.

I know I'm very fortunate to have very good friends who would do anything for me, but besides similar intelligence and fundamental values, their ethnicity, background and socioeconomic frame of reference are totally different than mine! LOL

I have a pretty good job in expensive Hawaii, but 2 of my close friends are C.E.Os and they make much more than me, especially when you factor in their annual bonuses.

Also, although my friends cut across all ethnic backgrounds, for some reason polynesians and latinos seem drawn to me, so out of my two closest best friends, one is caucasian-native hawaiian mixed and the other one is mexican.
