After attending my wife's boring company Xmas dinner last year both of us agreed that we will skip the next year. This year she is insisting that we both attend again. I reminded her of last year outcome but she just want to be there for "body count". We have two kids and I would rather be with them and my wife can go to the dinner by herself. I do not want to go just to be part of the body count. Please advise.

As a man in marriage, you can either be right or happy.

Go. But you could always have a babysitter emergency escape route.

I'd go. She is your wife and she needs your support. It looks good for her to show up at company events with her spouse. Suck it up and find a way to make a game out of it. Look at people as characters and find a way to be entertained by them. Surely, there are at least one or two idiosyncrasies that would be funny if you studied it enough. Enjoy the party!
