When you marry your spouse you also marry his/her family and that can get interesting.
When you are now part of their family does this give you the opportunity to be honest with them and maybe raise your voice and get really angry if they displease you or are cruel in some way? If your spouse can raise his/her voice, why can't you? There family now aren't they?

No, I treat others the way I'd like to be treated. I wouldn't yell at them because I wouldn't want them yelling at me, regardless of the situation.
However, I'm not immune to finding fault with them, I just tend to ignore and move on. It's not worth the drama and in the end, they will always be his family too. I wouldn't feel right about making my husband choose sides.
If you cannot converse like a mature adult, you may want to leave it unsaid.

I always got along well with my wife's siblings until one of them screwed me on a business deal. The others took his side because he was "blood". I cut them out of my life. The wife took their side. Again, the "blood" issue. She demanded that I make peace on their terms. I said no and that if it was a problem, she could leave if that suited her. Apparently leaving and then having to work for a living didn't suit either.
I am not talking about yelling and screaming at the top of your lungs but just getting angry and letting them know you are angry. So if they are mean and nasty to you or your spouse, you just let them be because they are not your immediate family?
Yes, got into it once with the exes mother. She was nagging me. It wasn't fun. Thank god I'm older and less bothered by things now than I used to be.
