It appears that she didn't and perhaps people in Myanmar(Burma) view such actions in a different manner than we do here in the USA.

Do you know what the Malaysians around you might have thought if they were watching you and your friend?
Yes.
To many (if not most) American men, everything is about sex.

Harrier doesn't equate holding hands with a sexual relationship - he has held hands with his platonic female friends - but he does associate it as a behavior that is normally done by two people of the opposite gender.

When did Harrier ever say that it bothered him?

True, though it would be better if they grabbed on to a sober person.

If not a sexual relationship, what difference does gender make?

Harrier isn't used to it - that is why he is asking the question - so that he can learn.

Oh.
Well, if you don't look at everything from a sexual perspective, you wouldn't question why any two people were holding hands. Or hugging. Or walking in linked arms. Or any kind of touching. Because you wouldn't care because it wouldn't evoke a stereotype in your head.

Not necessarily.

Harrier simply asked a question,

There is no need to be judgmental.

Would any arm around the waist be a pretty good indicator that they probably are lesbians/in a lesbian RS?

I have occasionally seen this, and usually assume they are.
