Yeah, but in reality, she's just tagging along. We won't be leaving the hotel so there will be no big downtown shopping trips or dinner. It's one of those all-inclusive trips so dinner will be buffet style every night, nothing extravagant.
Those all-inclusive trips ARE extravagant to most people!
Didn't read all the responses. Under NO circumstances should you tell your wife she was like your son's girlfriend at that age (do you want to be sent to the couch?). Just tell her to relax a bit and it will burn out soon. Tell son to use protection and wait for things to fizzle.
I understand that, but I'm saying the dinners won't be extravagant.
You act like you are holding something back from her by calling it your son's trip and promising not to take her to an extravagant dinner. I feel like you are trying to prove you can take a stand or something. I don't see taking her to an all inclusive resort as holding back.

Who goes on vacation and never leaves the hotel? I wouldn't bet the farm that she won't be leaving the hotel. Good luck with that.

You do realize that many fancy resort hotels have expensive boutiques right inside the hotel? There usually are boutiques/little shops selling expensive jewelry, fine art, designer outfits & hats, furs and similar items. So, Irishfan may be correct that his wife won't be leaving the hotel.

Yes, but I don't know anyone who wouldn't want to go out and do some sight seeing especially in a foreign country! And we are talking about the princess here.
Dude, you're so whipped, don't even bother wasting the money on counseling. Just accept your life situation and be done with it.
Lol. At this point, one has to wonder why the OP bothers to work harder to convince US, rather than himself?
Though curiously... OP, is this another one of your stupid declarations or did you and your wife actually AGREE that the most extravagancy are going to be spent on these buffets?
