Like um, which ones do you consider most important/love most unconditionally? I imagine kids is the obvious first choice for most, but I'd be curious to see how people rank the others in importance.

*Kids
*Spouse
*Parents
*Nieces/Nephews
*Grandkids
*Siblings

Spouse
Children
Parents
Siblings
Grandchildren
Nieces/Nephews

The person you have pledged your life to comes first, unless they are doing something that damages the kids. If they are mistreating the children, then of course the interest of the kids comes first. If the parents each pander to the children instead of prioritizing their spousal bond, I think that has the potential to greatly damage things for everyone involved: there is no united front for discipline/rules, plus it is more likely to lead to divorce.

Interesting. Yeah I don't think that necessarily means you'd stop loving your spouse but if they're being abusive you'd want a separation at the least.

Agree, except I would switch Parents and Siblings. If life follows the natural order, one's siblings would be around longer than one's parents.

My love for each is different but I love them all unconditionally. I won't even begin to rank them. I guess I should disclose that I'm not married, don't have kids, and, obviously, don't have grandkids.

This reminds me of something my mother told me when I was a very young child. I asked her who she loved more, me and my sisters or my father. She responded that it wasn't a matter of loving more or less. She loved us in different ways. I was only about 4 years old and could not really understand that at that age. Mom was right though. We love differently, and I would add, simultaneously.

Love isn't an "either, or" kind of thing. We have the ability to love many at the same time. If you want to talk about the time given to each love, that is a different topic.
