Better yet sell it to a Reality TV show.

Why not go and use the material to write a TV show? You could make some money instead of wasting the material on City Data.

Maybe you could invite them to go to church with you, just be sure to bring extra doughnuts.

I would refuse to attend such event! My FIL is an awful person, so we stay away from him as much as humanly possible! In no way would I want to be subject to that kind of gathering!

Is this a real question? I think I should be invited. I'll bring my lawn chair and popcorn so I can watch and laugh. Why on earth anyone would subject themselves to this nonsense is insane.

Clearly, the OP needs to drug everyone at the party and burn the house down afterwards.

Hypnotoad commands you!

My wife's immediate family is insane! There is an incredible amount of fighting, yelling and screaming and general unpleasant interactions between my wife's various brothers and sisters. The brothers and sisters of my wife range in age from 41 to 62. Both her parents are still alive and they are in their 80s but in good health physically. Can they dish it out too. They seem to enjoy treating each other rudely and they love to yell and scream at their kids and each other. No one gives each other any respect. It's almost like they are all teenagers.

So 3-4 times a year they have a big family event that everyone attends, including the wives and husbands of my wife's siblings. They seem so shocked by all the fighting and look at each other with weird looks. But maybe for entertainment purposes we still attend the events. A couple of the spouses are newly married (3rd or 4th marriages) so they are extra shocked not knowing how to respond.

Here is my question: Because all of us are now married into this dysfunctional family, is it all right for us to yell and scream to when we are in the conversation or our spouse is being screamed at or just being treated rudely? Were part of the family, shouldn't we go with the flow?

3-4 times a year?!?! That's way too many! Only go to ONE and just sit back and keep quiet. Whatever you do won't stop their behavior.

I'd stay away from the knives, and make sure everyone is taking their medication.
