All the background details, my 33-year-old brother is a professional golf instructor and works 24/7 basically as an independent contractor. He has also started getting back into the gym, going 5 times a week and for 2-3 hours in the past month. The last he ever did the gym was four years ago, he wants to get back in shape.
This past week he has been at a golf tournament in another state, Wednesday - today. Yesterday afternoon he texted my Mom saying that he wasn't able to finish his round because he didn't feel right. Mom asked what was going on, he said he didn't know what was up. He said he didn't feel at all like himself and he may need to go to the doctor. Mom said we're all here if he needs anything and all he responded to her with was "I need sleep" and we have not heard from him since.
He is supposed to return back here tomorrow, I'm sure that he is just resting and that's why we haven't heard from him...the whole point to this post is to ask: Has he reached a burn out from all this activity and that's why he suddenly is not feeling right?
Hard to say. It could be burn out. You know him best. Is this how he normally responds to being burned out? It also could mean that he has a physical illness. Not to alarm you but if he doesn't show up when he says he will, you should investigate this to see if he is okay.
He needs to be checked by a doctor. I know this is iffy correlation on my part but one of my coworker's husband was an avid golfer who came down seriously sick. Turns out he got bit by a tick watching the us open and contracted Lymes disease.
Don't want to be alarming - but this is a common statement made by people who have a heart attack soon after. Check on him to make sure he's alright. 33 sounds too young, but it's not uncommon.
I'm just majorly worried--this is something out-of-the-ordinary for him. I'm a concerned younger sister, just feel like the family has been left in limbo.

Do you know what hotel he is staying at? If so, try calling the front desk. Until he sees a physician, you will be left unsure. Hope you are able to contact him.
There are way too many possibilities of what it could be for anyone on an internet forum with limited second-hand information to draw conclusions.
I agree it could be anything from a mild case of food poisoning, to being exhausted from spending too much time in the gym to an impending heart attack.
If he hasn't called anyone back can you call his hotel to have someone check on him in his room? He probably will just be sound asleep, but if there is a real problem the hotel staff could get help for him.
