Generally, I'm not much of a hugger. If I've not seen a good friend or relative in a longtime, I hug them.

Apart from my grandkids IM not a cuddly type at all and never was, I find it false and embarrassing, and it was something never seen in the street in Glasgow , now with Friends and other shows on telly, it seems the young pymama set cant leave a pal for half an hour without a big rush to embrace and have a back rub... as if they havent seen someone they love for years.. come on theres no need for all this exuberance and affection.. a genuine smile can do that.

If you have someone in your life that hugs like it is supposed to be done, it is a wonderful warm feeling. I am not talking about the fake ones or the to the side ones, but a genuine bear hug. It just helps you feel loved. Some people do not like being touched, and I get that, but usually it is because either they never have been held much or they have been hurt by someone. Of course, there are people that are just reserved.

Hmmm Joe Joe Yorkie nightmare gets about 10 to 15 hugs a day. He's very needy.

Howie my older boy probably three or four including on the lap big hugs.

John my husband probably four or five.

All my friends get one when I see them and a lot of my coworkers get one.

Then there's my friends pets and the shorties.

To many to count.

John's Scottish granny was like that too. I hugged her all the time and it took years before she would hug me back. There's no doubt in my mind that some day we're going to meet and I will hug you missy. Meeting you in Scotland is on my bucket list. Be for warned

I have a wife and two little boys. I give about a million and a half hugs to them daily, if I can. I am really affectionate with my own. I don't really hug too many other people. I do hug my other family members, too, when I see them. It's usually once when we arrive, and again when we leave. We only see all of them once every month or two.
