I don't undertand this thead unless OP is waxing on about his fleeting youth and the psychological ramifications of living in a college town full of teens and young 20 somethings.

Wake up at 7am after partying all night, chug down a couple of energy drinks, go meet up with your buds and out hang out wherever they do day after day after day.
It's weird when people in their 50's or older that will walk up to me in public like they have known me all their life. I guess they can relate to me because of my age of 54. And younger people don't want to talk to me in public because I think I remind them of their parents.
Why is it weird for people in your own age group to start a conversation with you?
The instinctive gravitation toward age peers has always been there.
No matter what the demographic category, the natural human tendency is to be drawn toward one's own kind.
I don't agree with this as a blanket statement. Since I was a teen, I've always had friends of all ages, younger and older, as well as my age. Now, in my 40's, I have friends in their teens and 20's, and in their 80's and 90's, --all brilliant, creative people!--as well as friends my age. I LOVE that age diversity!
Hair on the sides but on top bald. Now when my hair on the sides get long I shave my head bald to get rid of my gray hair. Saved a fortune on haircuts.
