I say...enough already! I'll form my own opinion. Having someone harangue me about how wonderful someone is before I meet them often has the opposite effect on my opinion upon meeting them.

No. Why waste that much psychic energy getting torqued because someone is enthusiastic about someone else? Are you really that much of a grouch that you begrudge a perfect stranger the compliment of being liked/admired by someone else?
The most gracious thing you can say without coming across as a sourpuss, is "Well, if you like them, I look forward to meeting them." I think it's pretty much assumed that you will form your own opinion -- you don't have to declare it to the world.
