Maybe it's just me but I don't take that as an insult. I take that as a light hearted jab. Life is too short to be upset over minor dumb comments. Choose to ignore it and keep on trekking. Unless they come out of pocket and say something really derogatory and aggressive towards you, I wouldn't sweat it.

Words that can be a light-hearted jab in one context may be very mean-spirited in another. It's all about the context.
