Yeah, if this were just about him being old, then walking by a nursing home would be like walking by the bar district-- it would reek.

OP - I know you didn't like this response but I think it's the best one on this thread.

But - I do not recall reading how often this happens. If it was me and this happened less than say 3 times a month, I would probably let it go. Still disgusting, don't get me wrong.

Since this is apparently a problem catch him in the act and tell him. That's what I would do. I'd say - "you shouldn't be doing that here." Or, "if you don't mind could you please not do that here?"

I'm not going to cut this guy any slack. Since it has happened multiple times he's being rude and ignorant. They make drugs to control bladder problems. As several mentioned there are adult diapers on the market. If an emergency arises he should have the decency to find someplace else to do his business, like behind a tree in a wooded area or a nearby gas station and not in front of an apartment building!

Lmao.
No. The best reply is from the retired apartment manager for her NOT to leave a note and to just tell her apartment manager while requesting to stay anonymous.

I notice a theme on CD of people attacking OPs or placing them in the wrong while making up every excuse imaginable for the person in their story.

Even assuming there is an actual bladder problem, there is no excuse for him to be handling it this way. (Note the suggestions throughout the thread.) And I think by reporting it she is doing everyone a favor, especially if there's a chance of a child seeing it. (Not only for the benefit of the child, but the old man, who'd have some shameful charges on his record).

Roust the residents in the community and start an adult diaper drive, they do it for kids all the time.

I think the OP is taking the wrong approach. Next time he sees this, he should immediately run outside and join the guy in the same action. *Zip*, "So what do you think of this weather?".

Interesting how he doesn't mind peeing on property that doesn't belong to him, considering that somebody else may step in it, or drop something while getting into their own vehicle, etc., but if he's so out of touch with reality he still has the presence of mind to wipe his truck door and the threshold off. Can't get the pickup truck all dirty, now can we? If he's so old and feeble that he can't drive around the block without peeing himself - maybe he's just too old to be out driving around at all? If he got distracted by his bladder urges while in traffic - who knows what might happen?
It will be interesting to hear what if anything your management at the complex decides to do about the situation. Sorry you have to witness that. I'd probably invest in some thicker curtains until he goes away!!!

So, I called management and told them about this guy. Maybe it is from dealing with hundreds of rentals and no doubt hundreds of tenants but the guy I spoke with was not impressed. He did say he would send a letter that "someone observed" this behavior". So, we shall see what happens. I reiterated to management that the laws states this is considered "indecent exposure".

Gee, with some of the replies, I guess people just live with people peeing and whatever else they want to do in broad daylight. amazing. As I said, he lives at the most, 50 feet away from where he pisses. Go to your apt and do it!! I don't think that is unreasonable to ask.

As was suggested, I think leaving a note is a good idea. My intention is to not call the cops.
Seriously....re-read your first post. You obviously do watch him...you had a lot to say about someone you deny watching.
Outside of trying to get him some help if you care to....I think you need another hobby. Just sayin....

LOL....So management has your number. I am not trying to be mean, but you really do need to find something productive that will interest you. You reported it, so let it go.

Maybe it is just me, but in this day an age when some really horrible things can happen in neighborhoods..this is not on my list of concerns.....

If you really want to get him arrested you can make a citizens arrest. Then this old guy will have to register as a sex offender for his remaining years.

Personally....I'd just quit standing and watching out my windows.....I'd go out for a walk, or get a pet....or go volunteer at the senior center....Where he is probably hanging out everyday Have a good one.

This man knows it is wrong because he doesn't do it when his family is around. It's gross. We have indoor plumbing for a reason.
