I have a strong connection to the Isle of Wight, in England. The Roman name for the Island is Vectis, and that's what I wanted as my user name. It was already taken, though, so I slipped another syllable into it.
I was never a "morning person," often a bit on the grumpy side until I had my fill of coffee. My name is Jerry, and the nickname jertheber hung on for a long time. After learning about low blood sugar problems I stopped eating sugar in the AM and became a better person for it. The bear name stuck though, it also was one of my choices that wasn't taken already..
I just got tired of choosing User names, and I just thought "Who cares?" So I just typed that in followed by my birthday.
It's funny how people take that to mean that I am completely blase' about life and issues -- which is usually not the case at all -- but I guess I really can't blame them!

I must admit, I did, too.

It's also been my license plate, and I've had guesses that I'm a boxer, or sell jewelry.
I do pay attention to them, and assume they have a personal meaning, which does influence my opinion of them.
Many users perfectly describe personality with their username. I think I am one of them.
