Guess what, the WORST place to give your name IS on Facebook!

WHY?
1. Hackers
2. Employers
3. Ellen DeGeneres looking through public profiles humiliating those who already thought it was cool to humiliate themselves

....and the list goes on and on....

I am not saying it is "OK" to give out your information online, however, to say it is "safe" to do it on Facebook is reckless at best!

I edited my G+ page. Local isn't public and neither are jobs and schools I've attended. I haven't paid attention to my G+ page in 3 years.

Jess, just read the book "The Gift of Fear" cover-to-cover and take what it says to heart. That will set you on the right path.

The guy lives three hours from the OP and doesn't know her address. He hasn't threatened her, but has been persistently creepy. At this point there's no need for her to move or to seek a protective order.

I'm not sure if this still works but I used to have Verizon and had no issue blocking numbers even though I wasn't authorized on the account (Father was account holder). This was a few years ago but all you need to do is use your phone number to register and log into your account on the Verizon wireless web site. You'll find the option to block people on the menu bar afterwards. Just go in there and add the numbers you want to block. It blocks them for 3 months and every time they call or text it will tell them your number is disconnected.

ETA - And when I say log into your account, it's just the account for your particular phone line. You won't be able to change any kind of billing from there. It just has storage for media and some random options like call blocking.

You are focusing on what your mother might say to you but what about your father? You can't tell him about this? Didn't you say that he was in law enforcement? He might be able to do something about this.

You seem younger than 19. I know that you said that you were raised to see good and do good but you have to realize at this age that the world is a complex place. It really does no good to label people from the Northeast as bad and people from the south and midwest as good. You can be victimized by a person from any part of the country.

Did you receive any therapy/counseling following your sexual assault last year? Are you in therapy now? Your need to do good might be overriding your perceptions of peoples behavior. You do need to exercise caution with people you have just met. It doesn't matter if they are fans of the same musical group; they are still strangers to you. When you became aware of the fact that the concert guy behaved inappropriately with the other girl, you shouldn't have waited around with them at the end of the show. His behavior should have told you that something was wrong with him. As someone said before you need to establish firm boundaries concerning other peoples behavior towards you.

It worked! I guess for what I tried to do before, I forgot my username from when I had my own line. He is now blocked through Verizon. Thank you so much!
