Yeah, I was thinking about deleting social media accounts as these creating mess in life. But this was not permanent solution hence the control on using these stuff would have much better I thought. Now I'm using a free social media detox app that helps to control social media addiction.
I was just thinking of this today. I'm in my late 30s, and was late to get started with social media. I didn't have Facebook until 2011, and LinkedIn a few years later. I'm not very active on either.
So, I wondered what the effect would be to just disappear from all social media. I remember some people thought it was unusual that I didn't have Facebook in 2011.
So has anyone deleted everything?
Never had Instagram snap chat Tried kik did not like it
I opened up a FB account in 2009 to honor my late mom using her nickname, and there are pictures of her on it. I also use it to talk to my Godmother, who was my Mom's cousin, they grew up together in NYC. But I just have her and my BF I chat with. The only reason I registered for twitter was to play hashtags on the Jimmy Fallon show. I could never follow the hashtags so I stopped logging in. I have 2 tweets and 11 people I am following mostly celebrities etc, Cal Fire, CSLB Ellen Jimmy Fallon. But I do not log in.
The only app I have for communication is the Signal Text App to send encrypted texts videos voice and pictures, works best if the same 2 users have Signal. I like my Privacy piracy.
I thought about deleting it a couple of years ago. But now I have too many relatives and connections on it that I normally wouldn't talk to. With FB, we are in touch consistently. And when we do see each other, we have things to talk about because we have an idea of what we are up to.
