So I recently moved into a new roommate situation . Everyone (a couple early 30s + girl late 20s ) seem very easy going.I'm 30 yr male..which makes it very compatible .

Problem :

Last night the couple had there friends over for ny party downstairs . I decided to hit the sheets around 130. I went upstairs into my room .

In the middle of the night I woke to a one of their guy friends/guest in my room , removing my sheets. I jumped and he immediately ran off. I told the roommate couple this morning .

I really don't feel right about this. It's disrespectful , quite alarming and makes me want drop this lease agreement

Any thoughts ?

I will admit that I never lived in an apartment or with roommates, but that sounds very shady and scary. I would invest in a lock, but I would take note of red flags. If there are a lot of red flags, I would look into leaving and look at the parameters of your agreement to live there as well... so if you can break contract if you need to get out.

I wouldn't judge roommates by the behavior of their friends on New Years Eve. And, a lease agreement is a legal document, so you can't just "drop it" unless the other occupants are amenable.

Third vote for a lock on your bedroom door.

I mean I don;t think the OP should skip out on the lease, but they can see for how long it lasts - 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, etc. I do think the OP should take notes so that way it can be decided when the lease is up if the OP wants to renew it. Maybe I'm wrong since I've always lived at home, but the way it was described to me,you have a choice after the amount of time is up.

I just find it odd that someone would go into the room and take sheets. Was that person drunk?

Actually you can get out of lease quite easily if you feel you're in an unsafe environment.

The OP didn't share what the reaction of the couple was to their friend's behavior. Was this guy drunk? Was he attracted to the OP? What exactly was going on and how often is he over, was this behavior out of the norm for him?

I agree about the lock, but the OP is 30 the couple is in their 30s, these aren't college kids. You get to a point in life where you should be past this kind of nonsense. It's not a frat house.

Imagine lying in bed sleeping and all of sudden someone is the room with you. That would be unsettling.

Again, a lock is a good idea but you shouldn't have to rely on that. Hopefully it was just a one time thing.

He wasn't taking my sheets. He was pulling them off of me while I was sleeping. I don't know what this mother fr was thinking . He shouldn't be coming upstairs or into my room. the couple apologized but still I feel unsafe. There is a clause saying the first 30.days are trial base
