It wasn't acquired ethically by person A, B or C.

Well, yeah, persons A-C are not exactly on the ethical list lol ...I thought you meant the person who originally lost the jacket.

No one "deserves" anything in that scenario.
Exactly. The store isn't losing anything What about the person who lost e jacket? Screw them because persons A, B and C think they are more deserving?

I once bought a coat and left it in the MWR building (Under the pool table) after I played pool with a friend. I came back about 20 minutes later and the coat I had owned for less than 2 hours (and paid 100 bucks for) was gone. This was sometime in 1991-1994, so that's like a million dollars in today money.

So, I hate this story. Some jackass stole my nice new coat. All 3 people in your story can burn in hell.

I think everyone in this story are morally bankrupt, despicable, thieving little twits, starting with the Parks worker who didn't turn it in to lost and found.

All three lack morals and ethics. None of the three deserve anything at all. If you are one of the three, you should be ashamed of yourself.

You're worried about the brazenness and appropriateness of Person C?

There are bigger problems here than which thief should get more money.

Person A did the wrong thing by not putting it in lost and found or giving the rightful owner a chance to reclaim it.

Persons B and C, one of whom is on probation get a refund and spend most of it on fragrance, that is "ghetto fabulous"

So, OP, which person in this tale are you? All the characters involved are morally bankrupt.
