Ah I don't like this approach (no offense Padgett I am not pointing at you!) that if someone is a family member (by blood), a kin then they deserve a second chance and we have to be careful in those relations and keep them in our life. Why? We can't chose a family, it's something we're born into and we don't really have to like them. If someone is a bad person or annoys us or is an idiot why would I want to keep relations with those people? Just because they are "family" - it's ridiculous.
I consider my friends a family - those I have chosen, those I know I can depend on, those I know would not abandon me in need and those I would jump into the fire for.
It's not blood that counts but emotions, feelings and actions.
