.... Or "swear like sailors". Anybody have a friend like that or know anyone who swears ALOT? I met this guy who seems like a good dude but he probably uses the F word every other word... even to describe simple things. How do you deal with people like that?

I stay away from people like that.

I find it distracting and not attractive. I don't like it.

I can honestly say I don't know anybody who speaks like that. But, it drives me crazy when my husband or son is watching any one of several reality type shows on tv, the ones that take place in car garages, or digging for gold in Alaska, etc, and every other word is bleeped out. I have to leave the room, it's too annoying.

I used to be friends with a guy who used to talk like that using the f word constantly. And every person he talked about was "that effing guy". Yes, it got very annoying. That's not why we're not friends anymore but it wasn't helping matters any.

Me too....not someone I'd enjoy being around. They sound angry all the time.

Yes. I worked with a guy who was bright, easy going and interesting that did that. He didn't sound angry though, just "colorful", laughing often in his conversation too. Bad habit I presume. It got to where I just didn't hear it when I spoke with him.

It's a negative reflection on the person swearing.

Tell 'em to shove it (with your own awesome gift of gab and swear words). That's how you do it. You have to reach them back on that level for them to get the point.

Sure. My father curses alot. Though he never says the F word, least not where I ever hear him.

His favorite word he says alot tends to be G Damn.

It doesn't bother me until we are in public with children around and they still can't stop themselves.
