That is great! I love reading stories about a good Samaritan.
(Sure is a lot better with people like that in the world rather than the nine people who passed by a 78 year old man after he was hit by a car and was laying in the road several years ago.)

In a few short minutes they had us ready to go. The spare needed a little air, so we got that and headed across town to a place to repair the tire. I'm glad to hear it! That is very good news! Thanks for posting, Rubi3!

Sadly, we are living in a time where too many opt out of helping others.

I was thinking the same thing. Why would a phone book even be needed in this situation? To prop up the car?

Had no one helped us, we needed a phone number to call for help and having a book of numbers would help. LOL

All is well, that's all it takes, a little act of kindness and a friendly helping hand to citizens in a time of need.

Nice story Rubi, it's good to hear of good deeds, good people looking out for their fellow citizens.

I've never lived in the south, but I've been helped by strangers in California, Colorado, and Illinois. I think people overall are pretty good if you give them a chance. Last night on the radio, the DJs were complaining about the rude, self-centered people in New York City and how they were all like that. In times of chaos and tragedy like 9/11 (Hurricane Sandy, the bombs at the Boston Marathon, etc.), people come pouring out of the woodwork to help strangers. Take heart, people are still good!

Good thing you weren't in California -- you'd have been on your own.
Ridiculous statement and not true.

You might need to look into getting one of those things called a "smart phone." You can search for any number.

Rubi, that's so nice to hear. I've been helped by strangers a few times and I was very grateful.

Judging by all the hostility you have towards other people in your posts, I don't think you're qualified to comment on what's true and what's not.
