I'm in touch with a lot of old friends through social media. I don't think that I sought anyone out. It seems once it started going, people came out of the woodwork and we all reconnected.
I keep in touch with a lot of my high school and college classmates on FB. In fact, I was able to get together with a number of college friends (from 20 years ago) just a few weekends ago. Had a great time catching up and reminiscing!
College, yes. High school, no. It's a matter of having things in common with people. Also, there is nothing so disappointing as "friending" someone and finding out they're some kind of bigot or religious zealot. Ugh.

Ugh! I can definitely relate to that! It boggles me how someone can be nice and sweet from one angle, then turn and be mean and nasty from another.
I joined a highschool fb page. Its a little amusing to see pictures of people I havent seen in over 30 years. But once i've laughed at how we've all changed we dont have much in common. We spent a few years or so attending the same schools and that was it. We all have different lives...so i lurk on the hs page but really have nothing to say.
I have some friends from middle/high school and college on my social media. They're geographically spread out and far flung. I rarely go seeking to find anymore to add as I have enough added already.
At first it's excitement, especially finding high school classmates. And, yes, it's fun reminiscing. However, some folks constantly post trivial things, whatever they want to share, daily (they think everyone would be interested). I understand the fun having friendly exchanges with long lost classmates, but once it becomes a routine chat, I find some rather silly.

I don't know. I only left school last June so most of them.
I am quite private so i'm not sure if I will have them in the future if I do use social media.
