I've actually never seen an FB page for a deceased person where other people kept posting there.
I think FB doesn't know the person died so it just stays there.

I have. Each year a friend of mine gets BD posts / memories posted on his page.

They DO exist.
And yeah... facebook doesn't know that. It is up to a friend/relative to take down the page. Most do.
A few months ago, I searched for an old co-worker and discovered his Facebook page. I had not seen him in almost 20 years.
He posted something every few weeks and mentioned he was starting chemotherapy. One week, there weren't any posts for weeks.
I then Googled his name followed by "obit" and found he had died. This is happening more and more as I approach the age of fifty.
Something similar has happened to you?
Yup. I actually looked up one of my high school bullies a few months ago. Turns out he was killed in a gang shooting. He might've put me through hell but I felt bad for him.
Oh yeah, this happened to me. I was looking for a college friend and found out that she died in a freak accident. It's a bummer when it happens but that's (unfortunately) how it goes sometimes.
I used to hear from a former co-worker once a year when she sent me a Christmas card and would write about how her year went. She apparently didn't like to use email so that's how she would keep in touch---using snail mail. One year she didn't send the card. Since we hadn't seen each other in years, I figured that she wasn't interested in keeping in touch anymore. Recently, I googled her husband, only to find out that he had died 4 years ago. It was a shock to find that out as he was in his late 50s. His death happened less than a year from the last time I heard from her. Her last Christmas card had said he was doing just fine.
Otherwise, A few times I googled people I remembered from my school years only to find that a few of them had died.
I died 5 years ago and my Facebook account is still open.
