Need some ideas for a Christmas gift for a typical happy healthy American boy.

Besides the usual shoes, hoodies, Jackets, pants.. What are some of the unique Christmas gift ideas? Please share.

This is the gift I want to buy for him,

VTech KidiZoom Smartwatch

VTech KidiZoom Smartwatch - Blue - Vtech - Toys "R" Us

and wondering if there is something else a typical 6 year old boy would like.

I think it is a nice gift. It falls right in the middle of the toy's age category, so since you don't know his specific interests, I think it's a good choice. Don't forget the batteries.

Books, and a bike, or other outside entertainment- before it's too late.

Is this a kid that you see regularly? If that's the case, it might be nice to get him something that's an experience you can share--tickets to a dinosaur show or his favorite team's game or kid-friendly zip-lining or dirt bikes or a day at the zoo or amusement park.

My nephews that age love superhero toys (Superman, Spiderman, Batman, The Hulk), Minions, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, age-appropriate lego sets. Juraissic World dinosaurs are also popular. You can't ever go wrong with Legos though, they seem to be universally loved by little boys.

The watch is cool, but it depends on the kid. My 6 year old nephews (multiples) already have their parents old iPads which are much more advanced than the watch would be, so they probably wouldn't love it, but if a kid did not already have access to tech maybe not. Also I feel my 6 year olds would possibly be a little advanced for the watch..they are in first grade and already know basics like telling time that the watch teaches.
