IMHO, if you are a hooker, then "yes, it is OK" to accept money from someone who you are not interested in or in love with.

But, if you are not a hooker, then the answer is "no".

You mean just a gift of money? Absolutely not. It would be pretty trashy.

What if you actually needed the money?

No. It would create expectations and strings would be attached to any money you accepted from them.

If you need more money you need to figure out what you need to do to increase your income and cut your spending so you can rely on yourself to take care of yourself.

If you need food you can go to a Free Meal program for the homeless or go to a food pantry. Otherwise get a second job and wait for payday if you need more money.

But, I suppose if you are really desperate and need the money very quickly you could sign loan papers at a low interest rate. And, then pay back every penny after you cut your expenses and get a better job or a second job.

You are implying that this person thinks they will win your affections by giving you money. If that's the case, then of course it would be wrong. And if you aren't already a hooker, it essentially makes you one. Needing the money doesn't change that, btw.

I wouldn't accept money from people I DO like either.

Perhaps a loan from a family member if I were really desperate and they agreed to a written contract and repayment plan. REALLY desperate.

I'm with all the other people that say this sounds an awful lot like prostitution. If not being affectionate in return for this money, you would at least be seriously toying with someone's emotions, which I believe is cruel and really trashy.

I've accepted free drinks from people at a local bar. And no, I didn't go home with them lol.
