10 years after college graduation, I ran into a person I knew at college on a street corner in mid-town Manhattan New York City which is 970 miles from where we went to school together. And Manhattan NYC has a population of 1.6 million.
But my former friend from college and I ended up on the same street corner in Manhattan NYC at the same moment in time.

Many years ago I was working for a nonprofit in a building in downtown Minneapolis. There was a print shop in the basement that we used to print up flyers, etc. and I would chat with the guy who ran the shop. My boss organized a group trip to Israel, and when we got to our hotel in Jerusalem, I saw this same guy from our building in the lobby of the hotel. We were both astonished to see each other there.
Ran into two buddies while urininating into the wrigley field trough. None of us are from or live in Chicago. I was three sheets so didn't even catch them outside.
I was still in high school (living in Metro Detroit) and we took a trip with my family to the Great Smoky Mountains about 500 miles south.. and we just happened to bump into a family friend of ours there!
1) The St. Louis zoo looking at their new baby elephant, Raj. Thing is, we lived in Mpls at the time & the guy we ran into was a co-worker of DH's in CA, that we had recently spent time with at a company event near Vegas. It's pretty weird to be at the zoo in a strange city across the US & hear your very unusual name called out.
2) I was in a bathroom stall in the airport in Little Rock, AR. I lived in Mpls at the time. This was in the days before cell phones. The woman in the stall next to me says "Excuse me, do you work for {insert large F100, but not well known to the general public} company name"? I did, so I replied "yes", but was still very puzzled. We exit the stalls & introduce ourselves, she is a sales rep for my company from yet another state & we are both going to the same client in Little Rock LOL. I'd talked to this woman on the phone many times. After a 'duh' moment, I realized, she'd seen my schwag duffel bag with the company logo, on the floor of my bathroom stall I knew the salespeople were good, but I didn't think most of them had ESP.
I have a bunch of other airport stories, but I don't consider them that odd, b/c my entire division almost, spent every week on the road, so running into each other at airports where we intersected was de rigeuer. But never before or since, has someone intro'd themselves to me, in a bathroom stall.
On one of our outings with a weekend hiking club near Washington DC, an older man who had immigrated from Shanghai China, was talking with a young Chinese-American man, and discovered that, long ago, he had been in Boy Scouts in Shanghai with the young man's father.
