Huh? She had 5 out of 7 days to do her laundry at home.
BF is allergic to dog hair? So? Does that mean he was there, too???
Such a BS story. Why can't she go home and wash her stuff there if the bf is allergic? Can't she bring extra clothes to change in when she goes home and put the dog soiled stuff in a bag??
Why not remove the allergens, hair, and dog slobber at the source than toting dirty laundry all over town? I'm very allergic to pet dander, and I can have a reaction just sitting next to someone at work who has a dog or a cat or riding in a car of a pet owner. Maybe the OP's pet sitter isn't in the best line of work for someone adjacent to someone who has an allergy, but she's dealing with it (of course not as openly as possible.)
If she's staying overnight then she may need to do laundry, and can't do it at home, because she's at yours. So I could understand a load of laundry. But it sounded like she left one load in the washer and another load on the floor? That sounds like she's doing more than just her washing the clothes that got dog hair on it.
If I had a dogsitter who was staying the night for an extended period, I wouldn't mind if they used the machine. But I would have wanted them to ask first--my machine backs up occasionally (I've been meaning to call a plumber) so I would want them to know about that and watch for it and know how to drain it if necessary. And I would definitely expect them to leave the house as they found it.
So in this case I wouldn't 'report' the dog sitter but I would mention it when she comes back to pick up her clothes, that I would appreciate it if she could do a walk-thru on her last morning from now on, and make sure everything is back the way I left it.
Was she staying at your house the entire weekend (like a house sitter,) or did she come to walk the dogs and leave? If the first, I wouldn't really have an issue with it, if the second, then yeah, I think it was a bit odd.

No, just one load. It just happened to be on the floor.
Now THIS is what I would have an issue with. Was her bf at your house?

So then where else does she do her laundry normally? The OP said she's a vet tech so I'm guessing she always has dog or other animal hair on her unless she changes clothes when she leaves work. If I open my house to a sitter (all the food, drink/alcohol, Wifi, entertainment systems, etc) then I wouldn't have an issue with her doing a load of laundry for her own needs. The bf excuse doesn't seem to make sense to me otherwise.

Someone who is just coming by to walk the dog would be pushing it, I wouldn't expect them to cook themselves a meal or take a shower either. Although in reality if they asked if they could do some laundry, I'd say sure esp. since it would likely mean some extra time spent playing with the doggo.
Although the house painter taking a shower that someone else mentioned? Nope. Nopety nope nope. Not unless his name was Eldin and mine was Murphy Brown (yes, I'm dating myself with that reference).

Which wasn't my point at all, I was responding to "does that mean the boyfriend was there" and how that was shoddy logic- how would the boyfriend's being allergic to dog hair imply he was someplace where there was dog hair? I wasn't even remotely addressing whether or not she should have been doing laundry with or without an "excuse", as I already addressed that earlier.
