There is no way to stop a ranter from ranting, is there?

I basically agree with everything she rants about, but well- ranting. It’s so boring and one sided. Just move on.

Spending less time with her is an option. I don’t think it’s got anything to do with a deteriorating brain issue like dementia because she is brilliant with all areas of her life, financial, home, work. But she loves to rant and she is angry. She loves to hear herself talk. And I suspect she thinks that people who overhear this rant will be suddenly enlightened and she will have won them over. Because it’s not me she is educating, I’ve heard it a thousand times. Sigh.

I asked the ranter directly whether two of the people she is trying to get riled up with her.........'You think if you explain it enough times they will see it your way?' She said 'no, but I think they will agree that.........'and caught herself. Yup, if she says it enough times, she feels they will see it her way.

I thought that was kinda funny.
