I've always been good at making guy friends. It helps if you find a common interest in music, movies, etc. I say that because I've never been into sports. But most people are into the arts and entertainment, male or female.

Find people with similar interests. My husband is an aviation nerd. All his friends are working in avaiation, in one form or another.
Find what you like and get a job in the field. Now you have people with common interests to interact with.
