Most parties start with people coming over around 6pm and go to 2am or later. A lot of the people arrive at different times. I had a party start at 2pm and my cousin asked if it was okay for her to come at 9pm. I said "no" but that made me the odd man out. I just can't talk to people that long, plus I get tired around 8pm...... I'm an 80 year old in a 50 year old body.

Seems to me that was an inconsiderate question from your cousin, and you were well within your rights to say no.
However, 2:00 p.m. is an odd time, so I can see how it would get out of hand.
