If you are a non-smoker/user, could you intentionally associate, even be friends with a smoker, vaper, dipper, et cetera? Drug user? Weed user? Edibles eaters? The list goes on.
I'm a confirmed nonsmoker and I've been good friends with smokers. If they're courteous, I'm fine with it. I've even been known to accompany a friend outside for a smoking break.

Smokers? Sure. Heck, I'll even throw pot in this category.
Users of more serious stuff? No. Because, despite their impression powers of rationalization, they tend to be pretty f'ed up people with seriously bad judgment. Eventually, they spiral out of control. And, quite frankly, I've never known a user who wasn't also a user of people.
I'm a smoker, and almost all of my friends and family members are non-smokers... doesn't seem to bother them, since I'm respectful about it! Even in my own home & car, I'll refrain unless they explicitly tell me it's okay (to do in their presence). And I'm just referring to tobacco, since more of my friends smoke pot than cigarettes. It's California, lol.
In theory I could be friends with any of those people. In practice it's only smokers, but who knows what the future holds. Doesn't mean I would ever smoke or use myself--I've got enough vices as it is! I can't stand the smell of cigarettes or weed anyway.
