I honestly can't believe a kid would call his mom that. That's the first problem.
The dad hitting the kid with the belt? I don't know what I think about that. I don't promote violence, but what the kid did was totally out-of-line. I would be seriously thinking about what to do about him and his disrespect.
There is something called "fighting words" and you are way behind time to learn about the danger they can cause you if you let them out of your piehole.
Just like you better not call an African American person by the N word if you are white, you had better not use certain words in reference to women or bad things will immediately happen. I don't care what may happen on TV or the net, out here in the real world bad things will happen.

I am about the least violent person on earth, but I wouldn't be thinking about it. It would already have happened.
Join the family and be respectful, cooperative, and grateful. You owe a sincere apology to both your mother and father. I'm sure you don't think so but you do.
If the kid doesn't understand that what he did was almost unforgivable, I don't know what is going to become of him. How can you function in a family if you think of your mom like that? And how can she be okay with you after that?
Consider yourself lucky,you could have been missing a tooth. You were dead wrong for calling your mother that word, your mom of all people. At 16 you pretty much depend on her for so much, and so much of what she does you probably take for granted. You really need to apologize to her and your dad.

The OP is 16. He went with the nuclear option of insulting words and definitely needs to apologize and be grounded, but who among us was not occasionally a little punk at that age? Here's hoping that this is a learning experience.
I'm from the old school where there's nothing wrong with being spanked if you deserve it. If I had ever been stupid enough to say something like that to my mother, I don't even want to think of what my dad would do to me.

At 16, you know what's what. Calling your mom the c-word is no accident. He said the worst thing he could say to his MOTHER . . . think how he might treat girls his own age.
As I said, it's almost unforgiveable. What would make it forgivable is if he had a conscience and truly felt terrible for what he said - but he doesn't. He's focused on his dad's reaction.
He has two years left before he's an adult.
The family should seek therapy and he needs to examine his moral values. He needs to figure out a way to make this up to his mom. It's not just "whatever."

I was never disrespectful to my parents, and never would think of calling them a name. I never agree with them on everything, but I respectfully disagree with.
