I know I could have put this in the wedding forum, but I think I'll get better answers here and quickly enough before this Sunday Feb 3rd.

Two 60ish lady friends of have lived together for about 4 years now. They just recently announced that they are getting married. The tragic part of this is that one of them was told that she has just months to live. (she is dying of cancer)

This is how I will start out, but have no idea how to finish it...

"We are so happy for you, and we are honoured to be included in the celebration of your marriage"

what else do you suggest? Can't say anything about a long happy marriage, obviously.

Your single sentance is perfect. You could simply sign your name. If you feel you must expand... you could write:

How wonderful you found each other! Love, us

I agree with WorldKlas, but I might also add, "We treasure your friendship".

I'd offer ending the sentence with 'celebration of your life together' rather than simply 'marriage.' Marriage is an event, whereas you are really speaking to a journey together.

The wedding is an event. The marriage is a journey.

I know several people who felt it was wise to make this move, whether same sex or not. Marriage or Cert of Domestic Partnership or whatever gives the partner the medical say so and rights after passing. All the best to them.
