Look into Al-Anon. Regardless of dealing with anyone with addictions, it's mainly for people who take on someone else's responsibilities, and/or covering up for them.

It's about learning where someone else's responsibilities end and yours begin.

His reaction was this:

- Told me to go F myself

- Giving him 5 months isn't enough and is basically throwing him on the street

- During those 5 months he "wouldn't make things very fun" and wouldn't even try to help himself, just in spite of me
He objects to the idea of 5 months? Then give him 60 days, in writing.

Or, if you know the owner of your apartment and are on good terms with them, tell them what's going on.
Maybe, big maybe, they'll initiate his eviction and let you continue to stay there.

Over at 'legal help with long term freeloader' he/she started a couple days after this one. Actually the legal help being more specific was a good idea. Do wonder how the OP will do. OP can do all the things suggested but if OP changes on a dime and continues to be controlled by someone no one else in the family will accept any longer...hard to help such a person.

The fact that you have a sibling means that your parents were on good terms more than one. That all. You can't let your sibling ruin your life.

He's embarrassed. He thought he'd get page after page of blind support and no one would ask him how he's able to stand with no spine.

Meanwhile he can't watch Big Bang because his bro is hogging the TV.

That OP paid for.
