- nice cars
- nice-looking wife & kids
- nice-looking home, lawn, yard, etc.
- just seems to have the "perfect" life

What is it?

I wouldn't be noticing any neighbors that much. Maybe you have too much time on your hands at home to focus on this. Go do something, take up hobbies, etc.
You sure play a different tune when you talk about neighbors who sit in their garages.

I'm trying to think of reasons why the OP is jealous of a guy he doesn't even know since he didn't say at first. He confirmed that my reasons were pretty much it.

That doesn't mean squat regarding whether the OP or his neighbor sits in the garage or not. People have eyes & can notice things IN PASSING as they're:

- entering & exiting their cars to come & go places
- water their lawns if they don't have a sprinkler system auto turn-on
- out front to mow the lawn
- walking in & out quickly to get the mail

Surely you don't think that the ONLY way he knows things about them (cars they have, etc.) is solely because 1 or both of them sit & linger in the garage.

They have done nothing for me to warrant this feeling.

In my earlier years I had zero problems with them and was never jealous; but in seems the last 3-4 years this jealously in me has been growing. I have been trying to get over it but for whenever reason I just can't. I tried the "out of sight out of mind" but it is difficult since they are literally across the street and I have a big window in the room.

I don't want to be locked up in my room all day either or be afraid to go outside. Maybe you guys can talk some logic into me, it took me a lot to write this since I am so embarrassed of it. I want to be happy for them or even just stop caring.
Huh? I don't get it. You're jealous that they live a quiet life?

It doesn't really matter, though. Part of life is being able to routinely deal with people that make you nervous, people you dislike, people you disagree with.

Maybe you should try interacting again.
