Ya, I wouldn't want my father look at my crotch, or a baby coming out of it. GROSS

My father passed away in '70 a year before I gave birth to my first child. I may have thought creepy back then, but how I wish he could have had one glimpse of his grandson.

BOTH of my parents died before I turned 30 ( my mother was my very best friend)and you know something I would give ANYTHING to see them and for them to see my twins BUT not in the delivery room.

If you aren't one of the ones comfortable with the idea then you don't have to do it - but don't go around labeling other people as "creepy" just because their family dynamics and intimacy levels aren't those you've experienced.

Who said I wasn't close to my family? You shouldn't assume! I was extremely close to my parents...but still wouldn't have them in the delivery room where I am being cut open!!for them to see!

Please reread, I did not say you weren't close to your parents, good grief.

That is NOT the same thing as saying anyone who doesn't do this is not close to their parents.

I don't think it's creepy. That's your dad. He's not looking to get some rise from his own daughter.

If he's the father to be's father, then yeah he might wanna wait outside. LOL

Absolutely. Is there a daddy fixation? I told my mother in law to get out when my wife was giving birth to our first.

Okay then, what is creepy?

The thought of someone seeing your vagina?

Your newborn naked?

The idea that you and your husband had sex in the first place?

What is "creepy"?

Creepy is the part where you have some private part of your body exposed that you may not want your dad or your inlaws to see. The naked newborn is fine. The fact that you had sex is fine - after all, we all know how that baby got in there. It's the being naked or having your private areas exposed with your parents in the room that I find creepy. Not so creepy with my mom, but would be creepy with my dad. I had my mom with me for my first son.
