1) How many friends do you have on Facebook?

2) How is it that some people have hundreds of friends on Facebook?

3) What do you do when someone irritates you and you no longer want them as a Facebook friend? How is this best handled?

1. 115

2. you really do meet a lot of people in your life, so sometimes it's easy to get past that 100 mark... everyone on my list i've either met in person or talked to online for years and years.

3. i don't know, but recently i'm pretty sure someone took me off their friends list because i got into grad school, because she's an immature drama queen.

I just joined and I only have about 18 friends. How long will it take me to get 100?

I used to have a bunch but only because I felt obligated to accept friend requests, then, I deleted that account and started a new one where I have no friends. I don't like to be bothered on there but by close friends and family. What's the point? I just feel obligated to respond to their messages and find something witty, interesting or cute to post on their page. Eh. No thanks.

I have 30 friends. Half of them are family. A few of them are people from college who I barely know who sent me friend requests, so I really don't count them as "friends". I have gotten a few friend requests that I ignored, though. Some of them were people from college who I wasn't friends with at all and so I didn't see the point of adding them as a friend. Personally, I'm of the "only add people who really are your friends, as opposed to you just vaguely knew them" school of thought.

I have no idea how people have so many friends. I don't think I even know more than 50 people in general. Yes, you meet new people frequently but how do you get to the point where you friend them or they friend you? From the friends I've made recently, I'd say it takes about 2 months into the friendship before I friend them or they friend me. I don't know how it works for other people, but I don't friend acquaintances and acquaintances don't friend me.

I've been on Facebook for a little over a year, and I still only have the 30 friends.

I like Facebook in general, especially because I enjoy sharing my photos and seeing others' photos, but Facebook has definitely caused feelings of insecurity in me. I haven't friended anyone from high school nor has anyone from high school friended me, but I have looked at my class listing and seen that more than half my class is on there, and just seeing some of their profiles makes me feel like I've stagnated. I think Facebook lends itself to comparing yourself to others in a negative way, especially for people who have lower self-esteem. But at the same time, it's hard to put your curiosity aside--even though it makes me feel bad about myself I can't help but look at their profiles. But it does make me feel insecure about what I've done in the years since high school.

Give it time. You probably haven't been out of high school long enough.

Who really cares about face book? What's its purpose any way; to allow others to worship the beauty they give to the world? I like living off the grid.
