My sister is a 'goth' and I've known many of all facets. My sister is more of a romantic/vampire/lace type goth who reads a lot of vampire romance novels and reads a lot of gothic poetry/stories etc.
I have another goth friend who is a little odd, he's obsessed with death, always wears black leather pants with big flowy robes/jackets and purposely tries to scare little kids. He also acts as if he's allergic to the sun (going so far as to hiss at it when he's in sunlight) and dyes all of his body hair blonde.
He's weird. Not a very fun person to hang out with
I think goth means a lot of different things to different people. People thought I was a goth for a while, but I was a psychobilly chick first and foremost, so it kind of depends.
But what difference does it make when you are dead?
A common thread runing through all religions seems to be the ideal that before and after death there is life. one life controlled by our mind. the other controlled by our spirit, one life we have the power to change the other we don't. so at the end of our corporeality, what people say, think, belive, and do because of us is our new life.
My daughter was goth in HS and morphed into steampunk (which I find more interesting as a "look") in college.
I would describe her and most of her friends as "straight edge" (little or no drugs and alcohol), super creative, intellectual and super-duper technologically savvy.
25-Eats goth-related foods. Count Dracula cereal is an example of
this.
I knew that the evil General Mills had to be behind this movement and the downfall of society as we know it!
