I can usually tell an eastern european person from a western european person. poles, czechs, germans, and austrians can get tough though. an italian is easy to spot.
Really? If u looked at the pic on my profile, would you know I was italian?, how would u tell me apart from lets say, a hispanic? I get mistaken for hispanic all the time. Someone once said to me that only an uneducated person would mistake an italian for a hispanic.
In answer to the thread question; I am becoming more educated in differensheating some whites from others. I work with a very diverse group of people.
I can almost pick out a russian in a crowd. They have a certain look that I can't describe. I guess you just pick up on it after seeing them day in and day out.

italians often get mistaken as mexicans. it's all in the nose though. a mexican nose is different from an italian nose
I am pretty good at recognizing English (or at least British) and Swedish heritage. Also, Icelandic women frequently have strikingly high cheekbones and almond-shaped eyes.
I can pretty much pick out eastern Europeans too (Russians, Ukranians, etc) because I am training with them all the time in dance studios. Irish - if they have flaming red hair and really white skin, yeah, but there are a lot of caucasians I can't tell what they are. People can't really tell what I am either. Because I dye my hair black for competitions and have blue eyes, I've been mistaken for Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Mexican, Russian, and a whole host of other South American ethnicities. What am I? German.
Can you tell the difference between a Sicilian and an Italian?
maybe if I looked at a family tree and recognized which mafia family they came from. haha I've got a feeling this thread is gunna be filled with stereotypes. hopefully people have thick skin.
I'm Italian but and I am very light skinned. So, no...people can't usually tell that I'm Italian unless they hear my last name.
