Inspired by "have a great face" thread. Just wondering people's thoughts...
Never here too, unless you are a nutritionist or medical professional. Are you? I say this because my ex did it to me. I was a 130 lbs at 5'4. Granted, that was big for me because I've always been under weight, imo, at 113 lbs (IIRC BMI of 18). He ended up giving me a complex. Never, in all my life, did I have paranoia about my weight and now I do.

Read post 27. No, I am not a nutritionist or medical professional nor would it take one to determine if one is overweight odds are extrememly high that if they lost weight it would increase their health.
Is this a friend whom you have witnessed gain or lose a great deal of weight? If so, brining it up is a responsible and loving thing to do.
Same if a person began over drinking, over spending, sleeping around...or doing anything drastically out of the ordinary and that is otherwise harmful to their health and well being.
You cannot make them stop or change, but you can offer yourself as a friend and helper.

What I question is perception. Of course, everyone thinks they're perception is spot on. If a person is obese, that's easier to figure. But, since western culture tends to value ultra thin, we should think twice. I know some don't like using BMI, and it doesn't fit with weight trainers and the like, but it's a good guide with a wide range. If your hypothetical friend's BMI is between 18 and 25 then there is no reason to advise about weight imo.
